The Cost of $15.00 includes a BBQ Lunch and a MABA yearly membership.
The public is invited to attend an educational seminar on beekeeping. Various aspects of beginning beekeeping will be studied including bee hive equipment, hive management, bee disease control, sources of nectar, pollen, and how to install package bees, and other beekeeping topics.
This course will be conducted by experienced Memphis area beekeepers who are members of the local and state beekeeping associations. These presenters, collectively, have many years of beekeeping experience, and will provide a first class opportunity for you to get started in beekeeping.
Those attending the course will receive beekeeping catalogs, hands-on instruction. Also, four “new beekeeper” attendees will win a beekeepers beginners kit, including a complete bee hive, bees, bee veil, smoker, bee gloves, etc. Two hive kits will be awarded to Tennessee Residents, and two hives will be awarded at large for the Tri State Area. Certain requirements will need to be met for receiving a hive kit. A BBQ lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Please print and fill out the 2019 Memphis Area Beekeepers Registration Form and bring it to the Short Course, as we expect a large number of people interested in this fascinating hobby, and it makes registration much easier and faster. We accept cash or checks only.
Building “C” at the AgriCenter is located on the South end of the complex, and is the middle building. When you enter the door, the meeting room is at the far end of the Building “C” concourse. We will have registration tables at the door to collect dues and applications.
