The public is invited to attend an educational seminar on beekeeping. Various aspects of beginning beekeeping will be studied including bee hive equipment, hive management, bee disease control, sources of nectar, pollen, and how to install package bees, and other beekeeping topics.

This course will be conducted by experienced Memphis area beekeepers who are members of the local and state beekeeping associations. These presenters, collectively, have many years of beekeeping experience, and will provide a first class opportunity for you to get started in beekeeping.

Those attending the course will receive beekeeping catalogues, hands-on instruction, and a chance to win a beekeepers beginners kit, including a complete bee hive, bees, bee veil, smoker, bee gloves, etc. Four hive kits will be awarded,  2 to Tennessee Residents, and two hives may be awarded at large for the Tri-State Area. A BBQ lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Building “C” at the Agricenter is located on the South end of the complex, and is the middle building. When you enter the door, the meeting room is at the far end of the Building “C” concourse. We will have registration tables at the door to collect dues and applications.
